Special Mail

Here is a photo of the neighbors Jaylen (9) Braden (2) Chase (10) Delani (2) Blain (8).

Today we received a package in the mail for Delani. The return address was Target, so I knew it must have been something good! I opened the package and saw what it was before the kids, so I scurried into their closet and got out Braden's football jersey. There weren't going to be any tantrums at our house today. Anyways, when I showed Delani was she got from Grammi and Papa G, she immediately knew what it was and wanted to put her cheerleader outfit on! Delani was just thrilled! And when I showed Braden his jersey he too was thrilled. It is so great to have little kids, I mean Braden has no idea this was the jersey he wore every Saturday last fall and even for Halloween- my precious boy. After getting all geared up we went outside to show the neighbor boys our new OHIO clothes!!

Week 2 Update

Aren't they so sweet.

O-H-I-O

Delani loves football and her Daddy's boots!

We are half way through the second week of "school". I picked up Braden and Delani today and here is what they both said "Mommy I didn't cry!" Now since they are two year olds I know that they know exactly what they are saying, so HOORAY to my kiddos for not crying.

Something else random that I just remembered from this week, on Monday Delani came home acting like a baby. She wouldn't talk and was fake crying so we had a discussion about being a leader at school, and using her words so that her friends would also use their words. Well, since Delani is sooo brilliant on her daily progress sheet one of the items checked was "I was chatty". WOW!! My talk with her worked...look out Hillary!! And to think my Dad laughed when I told him that we had a chat about being a leader.

SMU Park

Today we went to the park with our friends Meredith, Omaha, and Caspian. The kids loved playing in the heat, and Meredith and I were able to sit in the shade and visit. So this is only the second picture I have of B, D, and Omaha together, although they have played many times. Caspian isn't in the picture because he is only 11 weeks old and is in the Bjorn. Maybe this blogging will encourage me to bring my camera more often!
On a different note, Meredith will be starting school tomorrow- she is getting her PhD is Statistics. AWESOME!

Here We Go...

I finally gave in. After reading many blogs this summer (and wasting lots of time), I decided its time to get blogging....So here we go. The main reason for this blog is so that my family up in OHIO can be connected to our crazy life at anytime of the day.

We are currently doing a lot of "remodeling" at the D'Port House, here is a list:
This was Braden and Delani's first week of school (daycare if you prefer). On Monday they went to school with Daddy kickin and screamin and hyper ventilating. By Friday the tears had subsided and only Delani cried a little bit. Here's to next week....

This was my first week of working full time in over two and a half years. I am going back to teaching at the high school I taught at before going into "semi-retirement". It was a great week of in-service and I am ready to teach some Geometry and Algebra II on Monday!

The other big change has been the shift in caring for our twins. The last two years I was with the kids during the day and Adam was with the kids at night. Now Adam is getting B and D up for school and I am going to pick them up. So much change in such a short time has made us all exhausted as we spent today napping and hanging around the house.
